hi, I was going through the mailing list of the ILUG_BOM and i found your mail regarding the OpenType font for Devnagri.I wanted to know if that font is available, then is that freely available,if so from where can i get that? One more question, will it work on X-Windows ?

As I replied earlier, some final touch-up work is going on for this font. For this moment you can download it from http://www.ncst.ernet.in/matra/hindi_display.shtml
Please note that this version have some bugs. We are still working on it and about to complete the font within few days.
XFree86-4.x has primitive support for OpenType font. Though it is not enough for Indic scripts. Perhaps in future release of XFree86 they will incorporate all the changes that is required. So currently, OpenType tables are not accessible and you can use this font as any other TrueType font in X-Windows.
