Dear All,
I need to print to a Print Server, The print server is simply a Box with 3 ports to connect the printers (2 USB + 1 Serial). In Windows XP, the procedure to setup the printer is to install a driver for the print server called EZ Print by SMC. Create a Connection as if it is local and give the IP:Port Number to the configuration. Install the driver for the Printer and you are set.
I have added a printer for ipp print using the CUPS web interface with the device URI as http://<IP>:631/ipp/PID<PortNumber> as int the windows printer configuration it looks like <IP>;PID<PortNumber>. The Error I get is Remote Device not Available.
Current Device URI: http://<IP>:631/<PortNumber>
I have tried many permutations and combinations and now Cups keeps on trying and remains at Processing and does nothing further.
The following ports are open on the Print server.
Telnet HTTP 80 Printer 515 IPP 631
Connecting to the Telnet/HTTP Port gives me the Admin menu for the Print Server.
Any pointers will be welcome.
Regards, Cyril Chacko
