2. While using Xwindow you get 4 Desktops whereas in windows you get only

one.

This is a function of your window manager. See how many desktops/workspaces it can support And you can run more than one X server too.

3. Free Support from mailing lists.
4. You get to know more about your hardware....
5. Better Internet Connectivity....
6. Better Hardware Detection with Redhat 7.1 (my experience)
7. Better Sound Quality if the Sound Card is supported.

Add to that, a whole lot of tools that make your computer using life better. The ability to send mails using your own mail server, run your own web server, lack of viruses, a certain level of separation of user capabilities, TeX, the ability to script mundane tasks.....
