Specifics include: - - Provides day-to-day technical support to employees on network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware - - Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment - - Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment - - Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non technical personnel - - Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades - - May participate in the development of information technology and infrastructure projects - - May conduct training programs designed to educate an organization's computer users about basic and specialized applications - - Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Requirements * Technical degree * At least 2 yrs of UNIX/Linux experience in a commercial and/or academic environment * RHCE preferred or else required to be a RHCE within 180 days from employment * Excellent understanding of networking required * Strong UNIX/Linux troubleshooting skills required * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision * Must demonstrate the ability to see through short-term problems to full resolution * Must possess strong computer ethics * Customer focused and enthusiastic in helping people to resolve technical problems * Ability to translate team goals into individual goals * A fast learner with positive attitude * Shift work and unusual hours are part of the job * Able to travel

The ideal post for jobs consists of: url one para describing the post one para describing the company (not necessary in the case of a company like Red Hat. And a good way of encouraging list etiquette is humour - works better than flames
