There are no devnagri fonts for linux or GNU/linux. There are devnagri fonts for the X windows system (which is not part of the OS). You can get them from the simputer project. You could also use true type fonts in X.

Work even goes on in Bombay. U can try talking to Keyur Shroff, Graphics dept - NCST, Juhu... Think he has done work on ttf fonts for the Xwin of linux - goto the site http://rohini.ncst.ernet.in . I think u will find some info out there. Bye, SP

IIRC, ILUG-HYD has some software that supports ISCII fonts on the console.
