Even then things dont add up. a few years back there was a similiar announcement from HCL or PCS (afair) for a sub 20k pc. They collected advances and did not deliver for several months. Further the warranty would be non standard. Or maybe someone is dumping their stock of non saleable junk. Since the component costs are about Rs.8K HCL would not be able to sell below Rs.12k inorder to cover overheads without high risks.

Can anyone confirm the specs.. I wonder how can they give it so...cheap. Lets regroup the component prices.. Lets assume the cheapest.( raddi ka maal) 1. VIAProc Rs.200/- 2. Mbd if new Rs 1500/- 3. RAM 128 Rs 500/- 4. HDD 40 Gig Rs.1800/- 5. FDD Rs.200/- 6. CDROM Rs.500/- 7. Cabinet & SMPS Rs.600/- 8. Monitor 14" Rs 3200/- 9. Modem Internal Rs.200/- 10. Kbd Rs.125/- 11. Mouse Rs.50/-
Total Rs.8875/- Quite a cheap investment at this price provided they give Return to Bench warranty and not Onsite.
