Hi,
Can anybody point to me *free* good leave management system where employees can submit leave, get approved or declined on linux.
1. Get info on no of days leave taken 2. Leaves remaining. 3. Payslip details. etc
Came across OrangeHRM but was not happy with that. Linux network gurus: Any suggestions ?

Leave management in OrangeHRM is pathetic. In most cases, the supervisor can not figure out who has taken leave and when. We are forced to ask the users for a print from their login of what leave was granted to them. The MIS system in OrangeHRM is also bad.
Another problem is that the interface is not well thought out. The approved and unapproved leave remains in the system in editable state even months after the date of the leave which the user applied. So that means you can change an approved leave to unapproved after he has taken leave and unapproved leave (therefore he probably came to office) can be changed to approved and he has lost that leave day.
Another serious problem is the lack of heirarchy in the leave management. The supervisor can not forward the request to the next level of management for approval, which is how many companies work - ie, the employee applies, the supervisor recommends to the HOD who then approves.
