i m looking for small tools / scripts that can help

import >desktop settings from winxp box and then can be later >used to setup a linux box.

What are iu looking at * mails * desktop icons * programmes * browsers settingg bookmarks * Messabge rules ?

if ur looking at mail then ------------------ Kmail has got facility to import dbx and other format of mails

for desktop icons and networking icons ----------------------

u can take look at KDE -XP theme [ the latest version] which has got the similart look as XP . My computer , Networkpalces and etc .

for this u will be requiring kde 3.2.X

About progammes ---------------------- i think u know about them or else search sf.net , http://freshmeat.net/ or linux.tucows.com

* browsers settingg bookmarks ------------------------------------- u can copy paste the entire favroitie folder of MS xp and put in use it .

* Messegae rules --------------------- i have not seen how to import this one .

Still it not in single progamme . may be one of us can write a scrpit/prg for that :-)
