Pls. give
me suggetions for this.
If you are using a RPM based distro like Fedora or Redhat, then you can manually get the packages from sites like http://freshrpms.net/, apart from using yum.
In case you are in Ubuntu, then Synaptic is a God sent solution for you.

Hi,
I have taken MTNL's newly launched Garuda FWT phone. As usual MTNL has not provided drivers CD along with the phone. The 1500 idiots has no clue about inbuilt wireless modem is.
Anyone having the modem drivers for HUAWEI CDMA FWT? The model number is ETS2288.
I tried a lot searching on HUAWEI website and googling it .. but no luck.
Thanks Richard

There is no need for drivers in Linux. Go through the list archives and look for 'LSP350R' setup. You did not mention your cable type and the OS. Make a note of your windows settings too, if you have installed it there.

Do this in your system.
Open the terminal and run 'tail -f /var/log/messages'
Keep your eye on the last line. Now insert your usb cable (If thats the one) and read the new line created. That will tell you where the device is mounted. Thats important, your device should get mounted. After that simply create a file wvdial.conf in your /etc directory. Here is a sample of mine for Reliance. This file works for FC4 as well as Ubuntu 5.10.
[Modem0] Modem= /dev/ttyACM0 Baud= 115200 SetVolume= 0 DialCommand=ATDT Init=ATZ Init2=AT+CRM=1;$LGPKT=3 Dial Command = ATDT Init1 = ATZ Init3 = ATM0 FlowControl= Hardware(CRTSCTS) [Dialer Reliance] Username = 22XXXXXXXX Password = 22XXXXXXXX Phone = #777 Stupid Mode = 1 Inherits = Modem0
The LGPKT=3 is for LG phones.
Give more feedback to know more :)
Regards,
Rony.

With all due respect. If you know MTNL offer sloppy service why do you go for them?
I didnt mean to offend or flame anyone by this.

There is a proverb in Hindi "Andoh me kana raja" (Among the blind, the one eyed man is the king ).
From my personal experience, after having tried cable Internet, TriBand
up time and through put is the best. MTNL can actually beat the pants off of other ISPs, if they fixed their usage metering software and/or replace their BB top management with customer oriented/focused professionals.

Sorry this isn't a reply to your query. Just a small piece of info. Please don't just hit reply & change the subject to start a new topic. Compose a _new_ message. It messes up the threading in email clients. Most people here don't use web based email services so it's a tiny bit of inconvenience for them.
Bye,
