i have RH7.1 installed on my box, recently i tried out a lan card on win. when i tried booting into linux, the startup stalled at "Bringing up eth0" and wont go further. any ideas on how to get to the login prompt without it trying to bring up eth0 Navin
1. First try "linux single" at the LILO prompt to drop into a single user shell. This should generally work and give you access to the system so that you can remove the offending driver.
2. Else use a boot/ rescue disk combo to boot the system, mount the hard disks and proceed from there.
3. If all else fails, let the machine wait on the "Bringing up eth0" prompt - the driver load routine should time out after some time and continue with the boot, since Linux generally doesn't hang eternally unlike some pricey OS'es that we all know about.

HI Navin,
Or wat you can do is ... instead of all the procedure described by Krishnan.. its a Redhat so it has some thing called Interactive mode .. so while it switched to interactive mode press I and say no to bring up the network and u can skip that step..:)

How about switching to "interactive" mode, that Red Hat offers ?
