Hello ppl,
I have managed to install FC2 on my machine with Win dows2kProfessional installed on it. So its a dual boot machine.
The p= roblem is that, While selecting Windows from the Boot loader, the system han= gs while chain loading and does NOT load Windows, whereas I am able to load= FC2. What could be the problem ???

I looked up the link, it has over 150 messages discussing the problem. But I am not really clear whether there is a solution for this problem or not. I am facing the problem on one of my pcs which has PCQuest 2004 Linux loaded, 2 HDDs of 40GB each. Didnt realise there was a problem till I read this mail.

As far as I understand, the problem is with kernel 2.6 and not just FC2. It (kernel 2.6.x defines disk geometry in a different way than what windows expect.
I have found a solution from the net, which worked on my machine (FC2 and win XP).
As a super user run sfdisk -d /dev/hda | sfdisk --no-reread -H255 /dev/hda where /dev/hda is your partition where windows is located.

Hello Sir, I have also faced the same problem a lot of times, but now i am using XOSL boot loader to boot into any of the 9 OS present on my system(redhat 9,FC 2,Mandrake 10,Debian 3,Knoppix,Win2003 server,WinXP,Win98)
I install the boot loader in the installation partition itself(like /hda/dev6)and not on to mbr.And after install i setup xosl to boot the required os.
