Umm can't help you there, but if you already own such a laptop (or the vendor is ok with you testing it out), the best way to find out what does/does not work out of the box, is use a liveCD/LiveUSB.
If you didn't quite get all of that, ask and one of us would explain in more detail.
cheers, - steve

Call Dell Support desk or sales desk or try to get them on chat on dell.co.in site. They will have the answer for you. They have details of machines which are linux compatible / tested and list of drivers available.

Site opens well and I could also see photos of 2 lug members. One looks like a bottle of champagne and the other has a regular human face.

My god! You must be out of your mind. :-)
We must protect our next generation from the addiction of Linux and Free and Open Source Software!
I invite all on this list to do their bit by
1. Flaming all newbies as and when opportunities arise
2. Taking all discussions in this list to completely un-related extremes
3. Create and defend horrible UIs
4. Attack all those who offer creative criticism.
The above and any other well planed actions will ensure that our next generation is "saved" from the vice and addiction of Free and Open Source Software.
Kartik Mistry.
Let us keep up the "good" work... ;-) With regards,

My current efforts are: 1. Teaching him to pronounce: Debian, Linux and Donald Knuth 2. Full screen terminal and doing normal tricks like ssh attacks etc and loudly say: 'Voila' when success comes..
Any more ideas are welcomed. He is just 2.653 years old, so no X.Org hacking yet.
