i have got red hat 7.1 on my machine.I installed jdk1.3 which was in rpm format however i am not able to compile my java programs

my jdk installation directory is /usr/java/jdk1.3/

i have set the following envirnoment variables

JAVA_HOME /usr/java/jdk1.3 CLASSPATH . PATH /usr/java/jdk1.3/bin JAVA_PATH /usr/java/jdk1.3

i have also got kaffe anathor java compiler it works fine but i want to work with suns implementation of java

when i try to run the java compiler "javac" from the /usr/java/jdk1.3/bin directory i get the following error messages

/usr/java/jdk1.3/bin/i386/native_threads/javac: error while loading shared libraries :libjvm.so: cannot load shared object file:no such file or directory

it appears the library libjvm.so: is missing i didnt find it in the lib directory.or is it because of some kind of conflict with the other compiler kaffe i dont think that is the matter.

what do i do?
