hi all, i was wondering how the ilug actually works. you obviously have an email server, but what about the email parsing. i guess you have a zope app server as well. how have you integrated both? are all emails scanned by the app server or by email filters in the email server? how are the services like subscription etc through subject in email performed? also which os, etc software etc has been used and what hardware. what are the loads on the hardware. basically if an admin could spare some time and explain the entire design and the reasons for a particular choice. also wrt to load on server is it better to parse through all emails for html or just send it to all the clients. <i do not intend to restart the html vs plain text issue>. thanks rahul

I dunno what hardware TIFR uses, but the software is pretty straight forward. Its a Python application called "mailman", that takes care of all the membership processing, mail delivery, digests, etc.
Its not related to Zope, its a standalone application.
Sameer.
