Hi Pramila,
I m not much aware of Unix, but in linux in /etc/xinetd.d/telnet file, there is a tag as disable = yes. Make it no & start xinetd.d service & then chk it out if U R able to telnet.

Maybe people aren't reading my cribs about top-posting, or maybe they don't understand what I am trying to say!
Please do not reply by just quoting the entire earlier message and typing your stuff at the top! Please interleave your part with the only the _relevant_ quoted parts from the earlier message!
The results are visible especially in the digest, when you see the same original message again and again quoted at the end of each reply that it gets. Not only that, this "tail" of quoted messages continues to grow with every reply to an early reply!
Sameer.
Yes arpita is right !
But I would suggest you to use SSH , it's much secured. just a thought.
