Hi Mitul, I have a single Network card and it's my home machine. Single machine, single NIC, multiboot (WIN2K, WIN98 and Linux) system.
I have checked MAC addresses using sniffers. In both cases WIN2K & WIN98, they are same. The difference is in the lenght of Login message (raw bytes) sent to the server. Also the ports used by 24 Online client on 2 OSs are different.
My concern is not about continuos availabity of connection, but to connect from multiple OSs.

AAggggh....
Here i know exactly wat is the problem... u having two network cards on ur machine ?? if yes then u got to either stick to only one OS permanently, coz u need to tell ur ISP to reset your MAC Address Information and then go in Linux and login there, and then never ever u can login frm win2k ;) (coz i dont know y is that so ... but it is like that ...)
and linc is the only one which keeps your connection on n on n on ... the 24online linux client given doesnt give constant connection. so take that extra pain n find out the login code :)
should u need any thing, let me know.

I dont know who your isp is, but my isp works on a very similar platform. They told me that they already support some multi-boot clients. If you wish, call them and check how they do it.

Hi,
I dont have a dual boot with windows, just plain dual boot linux. RH6.2 and Slackware-current. I have a very generic ISP which is also very generous with the way they ask us to login. They use a webbased login so I just have to know the IP where I need to login. I visit http://202.144.34.45:8080 to login and the same URL to logout as well. For those "threthened to extinction" species of windows users they have a software that creates a link on their desktops which opens the same page. I will call up your ISP and get the info about what are they doing in this regard.
Bye.
