The list policy is that all such messages will be broadcast on the group so that others who were planning on doing the same will also get the hint.

Seriously, I feel that sending mail to all is good so that the guidelines are reinforced.

I think we should inculcate some tolerance within ourselves. How would the admin probably know who is likely to commit an error and who isn't? These warnings are better than having to receive 100 mails of "List going to the dogs".
