Hello Pramila, Squid is a HTTP and FTP proxy, you require routing and not proxy for outlook to use the internet.

Hello Pramila, Squid is a HTTP and FTP proxy, you require routing and not proxy for outlook to use the internet.
Run these commands to adjust your firewall on fedora core linux installation. If you use an gui
/usr/bin/redhat-config-securitylevel
or if you do not use the GUI i.e runlevel 3
/usr/bin/redhat-config-securitylevel-tui
this shall show you a simple firewall setup wizard, chose pop3 and smtp as allowed.
you have a simple firewall in place. And can send mails as well with squid proxy. and dont forget to mention 3128 or wat ever port the squid is working on, on the other ports field.
Regards Yayati.
