Dear Anurag and List Admins,
Based on your statement below:-
"List Members, Please keep the focus of your mails on linux and related technologies, and do not post replies to potential trouble makers."
Could you please clarify more on the term `related technologies' with reference to linux or FOSS?
Does any new idea or concept for any technology that has a potential use of Linux or FOSS in the future come under this category?
Why is the presenter of such ideas being branded as a trouble maker? If the list members break rules and post anti-Govt. or communal replies, why is the OP being punished for it. Tomorrow if an on-topic discussion diverts into such replies, will the OP still be held responsible for that?
My observation of this list as well as the general attitude of Indians towards scientific development is that we are not cut out to develop new technologies or inventions. We are destined to be slaves and coolies of technologies that are handed down to us by our foreign masters.
Regards,
Rony.

Well there you go again, this has nothing to do with GNU/Linux and/or Floss. Again this mail has to be marked as OT !
Such kind of statements would result into non-linux/floss related discussion.
I guess we need to fork out a second list, which talks about technology in general not only GNU/Linux or Floss specifically.

Rony, Some replies were extremely offending. You shouldn't be held responsible for actions of the other posters. But you're not being branded as a trouble maker. All Anurag said was that your OT threads had more potential to turn into controversies / flame wars. He was a bit harsh when he said that you shouldn't post any OT thread ever again and I dont agree with him. But they are the admins and it is their list after all.
May be the next GLUG meet can have a session on conducting a decent GD.

Admin was right - we were pushing the line even for an ot topic. But it wasn't just Rony ;-). And Harshal was definetly overboard on his last few posts. Oh well it was a weakend no? And it did cover the subject of pouring tech snake oil on social and cultural problems.
Humbly request that Harshal be pardoned and removed from moderation he hasnt been that bad after all.
AAaamen.

I dont have anything personal against him but I guess the moderation is justified.

I understand but Rony did get caught in the line of fire. He was responsible for starting it but the members are responsible for continuing it. We all should have better restraint in the future.
