Whenever an accident takes place on the road, the biggest problem is to find out who was at fault. This is even more important when investigating accidents involving public transport buses and trucks.

If we have a video recorder that will record the entire bus journey, it would use up a lot of memory space with unnecessary recordings. Instead of that suppose we have a system where video cameras mounted strategically on the bus send their signals to an onboard computer mounted inside a safe black box. The recording memory will only be sufficient for recording one or two minutes of video recording. The system will be such that the older recording will be continuosly overwritten by the new one, so at any given time, the last two minutes recording of the bus journey will be available.

Whenever there is a crash or sudden jerks or hard braking, the sensors mounted on the bus will send a signal to the computer which will zip the last 2 minutes recording into a file and send it by wireless networks to the control room's base station. This file can be usefull to investigate accidents involving public buses. Later on it can also be made mandatory on all private vehicles who will trasnsmitt the signals to a central controll room of the traffic department.
