That's kinda harsh isn't it? I use gimp on a machine that cannot run anything more than NS4.78

My advice, don't use a counter. If you need stats, scan your web logs. Counters mess up the cacheability of your page, and are no better than using a random number instead. It's actually more processor intensive than putting up a random number.
