The info is in the World Factbook 2001 published by the CIA, and has tonnes of more information than I need. Like most books though, its information may be copyrighted and republishing may not be allowed.

Did you try contacting them and asking for permissions to use the info. Perhaps they might say a yes if they are in their elements.
