I've noticed this before, but what is this convention of enclosing certain terms in error messages,etc within quotes like this ` and ' eg. from limits.h /* Minimum and maximum values a `signed short int' can hold. */ I even noticed this in the halloween documents. Any ideas ? Regards, Mohan S N

Sometime on Dec 16, MN cobbled together some glyphs to say:

It's something like what microsoft calls smart quotes. On old terminals, the ' was inclined opposite to `
