You could look for something known as Arctic Silver 5. But for overheating, you may want to look at the fan speeds of the processor as well and make sure its running at the correct speed. Try cleaning the fan. Arctic Silver 5, is very well known. I am not sure if you will get it here. But you do get other heat sink pastes.I had bought a small can/bottle of silica gel/heat sink paste compound a long time ago. Dont remember where.

C K Electronics in Lamington Lane (Bhadkhamkar Lane), one of the shops near the small shortcut path that leads to Chunam (Dead End) Lane.

Yeah. I too was thinking about the same. But are these pastes for a long term use? I read a lot of articles regarding pastes/pads and some of them said pastes should be strictly used for a short term i.e. if you're going to change the CPU frequently then one should use pastes while if you're not going to change the CPU for a long time then pads should be used...

I don't have problems with that. The only constraint is the time...

BTW, silica gel is a dessicant is not equivalent to heat conducting compound. You can find the latter at any place that sells electronic components.
