what does 1 min of VoIP usage translate into in terms of data transfer?
which codec? they vary from 2.15Kbps (speex codec) to 64Kbps ( G722 codec). You would be paying roughly one unit per 3300 secs ~ one unit per 125 secs. This does not include protocol overheads. A unit is Rs1.20 per MB as per MTNL rates.
I am trying to work out the total cost of a VoIP service. Got the call rates but one component is the bandwidth usage. Since it works well with 256kbps and above, and both VSNL and MTNL do not have unlimited plans for 256 kb/s and above therefore the question.
VSNL has an unlimited 128kbps plan for Rs.24000 p.a. which is good enough for voip.
