Hello,
I am looking at 17th November, 2013 (Sunday) as the day for the next LUG meetup. The timing will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
JFYI, there might be a workshop on iOS development from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by our meetup. Then, the Python and Javascript meetups will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Last time, everyone went out for lunch. This time, I think we should order food from the restaurants nearby, so that we can sit in the cafeteria and have lunch there itself.
The last LUG meetup was good but we found ourselves lacking in time. If the concerned people are up for it, we can schedule those missed sessions for this November meetup. We will get around 2 hours at the next meetup, so we need to limit the number of sessions to 3. My suggestion would be a session of 15-20 minutes followed by 10 minutes to discuss the topic(s) of the session. This way, we can cover 3 sessions in 90 minutes. If any company working on a FOSS stack would like to take a session spot, they are more than welcome to do so.
In addition to those sessions, we will also have the Spotlight session, focusing on on a GNU/Linux distro. This can be covered in the remaining 30 minutes.
So, what is everyone's take on the above? Any suggestions on how things can be handled in a better way?
Best Regards, Rigved

An ignorant question: Since when IOS became FLOSS?

I agree with Mr. Swaminathan. Shouldn't the group be encouraging users
towards FLOSS?

The Mumbai LUG meetup is actually part of the Mumbai Tech Meetup event, which also includes the Python and JavaScript user group meetups. The Mumbai Tech Meetup is not a FOSS-only event, even though I would like it to be so!
This is the reason that the iOS workshop is being held in the morning, before the other events. Hope this answers your query!

Just a reminder that the event will be next Sunday, as per the date and time mentioned above!

Does anyone want to take up any sessions at the LUG meetup?

I have a Firefox OS phone. I can do a short session on it, if it interests people.

So what you are going to cover in your short talk? It would be nice If you can actively participate in Firefox OS hacking :)
Best

Hi Shahid, I am not yet sure what I want to cover. Will be fiddling around with the phone over the next few days and figure out a few more things. Unfortunately, this phone has 1.0.1 which misses some of the new goodies and I am unable to get firefox simulator working on my laptop as of now. I'll provide further updates by Friday evening/Saturday morning on what I can present.
