Hello All,
Off late there seems to be very little happenning in Mumbai's GLUG activities. Even on the list there are hardly any technical discussions taking place. Are people loosing interest?

lot of propaganda going around that LUGs are irrelevant and that people should focus on something else - maybe it's true

It's so boring. GNU/Linux just works. Nothing crashes. Everyone knows M$ supplies sh../ SCO is bankrupt. Even Oracle says linux is unbreakable. Novell learnt to keep it's mouth shut. And except for Agnello nobody seems to have any problems ;-). Oh well the usb to serial dongles from lamington road dont work. Does anyone know where to get working dongles or why pl2303 drivers dont work with them.

The next stage up from the LUG as a informal peer-to-peer help desk is a place to share our hacks, and perhaps get some synergy going. In other words, move away from free software as a spectator sport, and turn to participation?

The upcoming GIS workshop is one such arena in which to morph from mere leech to gladiator.
