Suhit thanks for point it out. i have removed the links for the moment but it seems to be a periodic spamming attack. i saw more link come up again.
You could always sign up and edit it. And write relevant subject lines.

Sorry but I guess you are assuming I have admin privileges on the wiki too, which I don't. The topic of adding captcha to the wiki has been brought up but since the mediawiki is quite outdated we haven't been able to do so, so far.

Sorry but I guess you are assuming I have admin privileges on the wiki too, which I don't. The topic of adding captcha to the wiki has been brought up but since the mediawiki is quite outdated we haven't been able to do so, so far.
Can we do simple thing? When you come across a defaced page, please clean it and protect it.
Meanwhile we will work out the upgrade and migration process to new MediaWiki software with Captchas

I have been running a bunch of wikis for the past three years which permit anonymous editing. I get about one instance of vandalism per year. I fail to understand what is so difficult about keeping a wiki spam free.

Captcha needs mediawiki version 1.6+[1] but ILUG-BOM wiki is on mediawiki version 1.5.6[2]. Same for spam blacklist extension. I am not so familiar with wikis. How difficult/easy is to migrate from one version to the next?

buddy its a simple thing. take a backup of your 1.5.6, export pages and upgrade to 1.6 atleast. it might be acceptable to have a couple of days of downtime.
