Dear Mumbai Linuxers:
I have decided to take the plunge by migrating to a GNU-Linux desktop, and have just bought a 240MB/40GB/1.66GHz AMD Athlon for this purpose, to work alongside my Powerbook running Mac OSX. I need someone to help me install and configure the new machine with a Linux distribution and basic set of applications, and and would also like to discuss my options and choices in this regard.
I am wondering if someone on the list can visit my studio in Dadar to help with the installation over the next few days, and discuss how much remuneration is appropriate for the work. I am going away on 25 December and will not return to Mumbai until mid-February and wanted to do it before leaving, in the coming week. you dont need help - just get the mandrake10 cds, put the first one in the drive and keep clicking with the mouse
