Hello Gang,
I have upgraded my Netbook from Fedora 10 to Fedora 14 so I can use MTNL's Teracom 3G USB Data card.
The data card is detected and usable on Ubuntu 10.04 Live CD and Installed version using Network Manager.
In Fedora 14, the card is detected and setup without any problem. But I can not use/activate it as normal user as Network Manager does not allow me to give permission to use by normal user.
Please help me in figuring out how to set permission in Network Manager on Fedora 14. Google did not provide any useful info/pointers.
TIA for your help and hints. With regards, -- --Dinesh Shah :-) Shah Micro System Pvt. Ltd. +91-98213-11906 +91-9833-TICKET http://www.shahmicro.com http://iopt.in http://crm.iopt.in Blog: http://dineshah.wordpress.com

chkconfig --level 012356 NetworkManager off
0123456 - and in configure network edit the connection and untick 'controlled by network manager'
Kenneth,
Thanks for your quick response.

I couldn't find my Mobile Connection in Administration -> Network / Network Device Control Settings.
if I use gnome-control-center -> Network Connections -> Mobile Broadband -> Edit -> (Enable) Available to All Users -> Apply It asks for "root" password but does not save the settings. ("root" password is correct)
BTW, I am using XFCE on my netbook. Not GNOME. The device is only detected and configured by NM.

Hi Dinesh,
For sudo in gui, the gksu type command should help. You can create a shortcut with that command sequence. Otherwise is there a separate group for network users so the user can be added to that group.
