my friend had renamed /etc/fstab to /etc/fstab.old .after that linux having some problem. so i tried to rename the fstab at the first booting window but it always shows like "read only"&i can't change the permissions also

You can do
mount -o remount,rw /

The best option right now would be to either use a Rescue disc and mount the partitions or use a Live distro and then do the rename operation.
