Abstract: PHP is the most popular web scripting language. Can you imagine a web scripting language do desktop applications? Well, the PHP-GTK extension does just that. You could deploy the scripting power of PHP, combined with the rich Gimp Took Kit (GTK) to develop standalone applications that run.. well, almost anywhere, including Windows!

This seminar will quickly go through some PHP basics and demonstrate a simple application. We will run through the code and understand the fundamentals of PHP-GTK. We will also see what could be the potential of such an approach and have some time for a Question/Answer session.
