As suggested by Mr. Vihang Dudhalkar, I would too, suggest you to try Ubuntu 6.06 / Fedora Core 5, for a newer computer.

Locate a person who stays nearer to your suburb, and you could obtain a copy of GNU/Linux that he/she has.
