Hi I just read some stuff on the net about the preemptible kernel patch. It seems it does increase the speed of system response for the avg user. (is that what latency means ?) Has anyone tried it ? If so where can i find it ?

Well, I've tried it but did not find much difference for my kind of load. But people have reported a lot of improvement.
I guess it's maintainer is Robert Love. Can't remember the URL, so search on google with all the key words + author's name. should help.

Haven't tried it, but it does increase user response, so is good for non-server systems. Basically gives better response for visible apps.
