Hi everyone,
Is there a console based MP3 player as good as XMMS? I've tried mp3blaster, ksmp3player... they don't give as good output as XMMS with its amplifier and equalizer system.

mpg123, mpg321 and mplayer are a couple of other options (the last one is far more featureful than most other media players).

mpg123/mpg321 work fine for me. There is some fundoo python based, stand alone streaming/jukebox server[dont remember then name right now], very useful along with lynx and proper mailcap settings.
