Not following this thread and haven't read preveous mails also. but http://dotfiles.com/ hosts such files. If this site has been already mentioned on the thread then just ignore this mail.

I think it is a good idea. especially for programs whose documentation is a bit estoric. Eg: grub and samba (IMHO) another imp one would be x on framebuffer ...for those onboard mighmares
