Folks, I just installed RH6.2 at a friend's place. He has a 815 motherboard with on board graphics. How do configure x? There is no generic vga etc. option while running xf86config.

go to www.intel.com and search for i815 linux drivers. u will get full set of instructions and drivers for the same.

Why didn't u install RH7.1 ? Any way in 6.2 you have to install 'xserver-svga' and run `xf86config` for configuring xwindows frequency of monitor. I think this is enough.
You can also install 'xserver-xfree86' and install new kernel to have DRI support for better performance.

Install X 4.1.0 It works fine.

I don't think 815 supports generic VGA. You'll have to upgrade to kernel 2.4.2, upgrade modutils and all the things mentioned in Changes file. Then upgrade to X4.0.3, and then configure.
