I say we hold a security conf. Why? because India doesn't have such a conf (AFAIK) and its a topic of interest to me. It doesn't have to be anything big, just a few guys doing some cool stuff. Please comment.

Oh good we can take there help.
Or help them, if they allow it?
Hey, Helping them is not an option, this is there registration website http://secnet.cse.iitb.ac.in/?file=registration.html and they are asking from 1k upto 4k. Not every one can participate with them and they are targeting a totally different type of audience. If we get help fine or else we are on our own.

i guess you should articulate your thoughts of a security event and then request for suggestions. else everything will be open to interpretation. eg ur idea of sec event maybe only linux based os while someone else might want to have other os too . you might see it as a commercial event while others might think of it as educational

Hey, Here is a small plan i have worked out. Intended Audience :- Anyone interested In Networking and Security. Cost :- No idea (We can go to a couple of companies for sponsorship) Venue:- We can ask IIT to sponsor or MIT bandra. (Basically any place with bandwidth). Subject:- A few talks and a capture the flag event to wrap things up ;-)
So what do you say?
