And you think starting a *new* thread in response to the already existing thread is *not* annoying? :P What about the 10 odd threads that'll start as a result of you starting this thread? Hmm...it will continue to grow exponentially and eventually there will be tons of threads, all thanks to you! We had contained the situation in one thread but now look what you've done!

Sarcasm, Mr. Dinesh Joshi ?? I would credit you with a lot more intelligence than that. So i'll just step over your current self-indulgence in asking leading questions[0] via presuppositions[1], petitio principii[2] and syllogisms[3] and invite you to help LCIN (see below...:))

...but I'm not (kidding) when I invite you (and other members who derive joy in flaming others) to volunteer for conducting LC-Labs[4] sessions in Mumbai, in addition to Mehul Ved's Linux session** at VJTI. Linuxchix-India has been trying to sync with the local LUG groups and it would be fantastic if you could volunteer to help us with the same. Bigadda (Mumbai), had agreed to provide space/machines for the purpose of workshops and seminars in their office premises on Saturdays, which has not been utilised to its potential.
CC'ing the Indichix list as I'm not aware if Warren and Jayashree, who take care of the Mumbai activity, are subscribed to ILUG-BOM list. If anyone wants to contribute in Mumbai, feel free to exponentiate this thread[4] into something which may be practically useful, never mind which list you discuss it on.
** Mehul's thread requesting for volunteers for local meets evoked a mere 2 responses from ILUG-BOM list which has 1000+ members, as opposed to the flaming threads which encompass insults, sarcasm and/or diss on (perceived) lesser mortals. Probably he will find many volunteers but this sure makes for an interesting observation besides being an example of why _some_ local LUG's miss out on various aspects, especially active participation of women[5] and I've said that earlier in a different context[6].

My dear, what you fail to understand is freedom. I have complete freedom of speech. Can you comprehend that fact? Maybe not. That is why your philosophy is to fracture, divide, discriminate instead of unifying people. Free Software and GNU's philosophy doesn't say we should discriminate which is exactly what you do and is in direct conflict with my principles. Do you understand that? Nah probably not.

The list admins can ban me, at the most. That doesn't take away my freedom.
On a side note, to add more sense to this thread, I didn't attack Ms.Ayer, she attacked me personally. If she wants to spread her "philosophy" and shes getting such strong reactions then shes probably not doing a good job or maybe it ( her philosophy ) just sucks. What has set me off is the broader issue. I see these kinds of tactics to leverage the so called minority groups everywhere and I am completely against it. Give the minorities the means. That is true equality. But no these people are hell bent on discriminating against the so called majority putting them at the receiving end of just about everything. This has dangerous social consequences one of them being fracturing the community as a whole.
I read over the philosophy of "Linuxchix". Its supposed to provide impetus to women to use Linux and in general "being polite and helpful" ( which I can see from Ms.Ayer's responses how polite she is. hahaha ). Oh yes and the tons of arrogance doesn't do any good either. Great philosophy but you're forgetting the founding principles of FSF and GNU. The contributors, members and supporters have not been spoonfed or taught. These ideologies have incubated and flourished amongst people who were merely curious and wanted to share their knowledge with like minded people.
Women, Men, Children, Old, Young everyone is *not* the same. You dont realize that. Being a resource is one thing, actively herding people into using something that they may not want to is a totally different issue. If one knows about the alternative and feels like it, he / she / it / whatever will use it. Be a resource and not a dictator especially not one which will fracture the community. Diversity is one thing and a harmful set of discontent people is another.
If you sit back and keep your ego and arrogance aside you'll know what I'm talking about and to some extent agree.

You invited me. I asked for a ticket. Eyesight problems, me? Maybe you should take a second look before you make a fool of yourself further :)
claimed:"I can be somewhat a complete ass at times". Polarity item?? Not sure if the Queen** would feel any pride atm.
Wow... so you decide what the "Queen" feels? How controlling :-/
So before you write another oh-i'm-so-1337 reply, please know what you're dealing with :-)
LOL... you comparing yourself to Linus Trovalds and RMS ??? ... thanks for the good laugh. Not even light-years near them, but yeah,
Where in my reply have I compared myself to Linus or RMS? BTW you can't even spell Torvalds correctly, can you? You're probably hallucinating. And I wrote *what* instead of *who*. It was on purpose and you didn't understand it. Probably your IQ has gotten something to do with it.
your senseless rant above proves (what we already knew) that you are
We?
an unintelligent, hubris-filled, blubbering TROLL. Maybe this list (and the admins) want to tolerate a useless troll like you but you are lucky that the list admins here dont use this rule[0], else this[1] would be the result.

Talk about arrogance, sighting your own post. You've got on bloated ego there. Keep it in control. You've been warned.
who will be LOL for a *long* time.
lame. really lame.
Strange to hear words like "freedom" and "freedom of speech" when all that you do is excel at being rude, arrogant and a bully on the list. Clearly you cant see a world beyond yourself which is not freedom, so dont quote philosophy when you clearly lack the skills to understand it.

These words are strange to you because your philosophy is to fracture and divide. All my life I've learnt, FREE PIZZA attracts only hungry people. Those who have the real passion to learn, will learn no matter what. Comprehend *that*.
FSF's philosophy was to build on goodwill - "help thy neighbor". But look at what you're doing. Harming the community by dividing us. Nobody cares if you're a man or a woman, child or a great grand father on an IRC channel. Why should we discriminate here?

fracture and divide ? FREE PIZZA? err.... do you comprehend why LUG's exist at all? It IS for noobs whom you just derided in another thread and here you quote the FSF philosophy to bolster your lame argument that its acceptable for you to bully others and insult them publicly and all this in the name of FSF philosophy or was it "freedom" !?! Sorry, you do not have that much freedom so I call you out and refuse to accept your negative behaviour.

Hiya all,
Finally, a thread that manages to wake me up from my lurking slumber...(or was that just because i noticed popcorn).
Firstly, Dinesh, If you have to insult anyone ever, even if provocation is provided, it's a sad thing. it's a really poor communicator who cannot make his displeasure known without stooping to insults. A witty and sarcastic barb is much better, IMHO. And i wouldn't wish a virus on anyone. And VidAyer, I guess you are bing a little belligerent... This thread need not have gone on this long, should have died long ago, and you know it.
Well, at least it managed to wake me up :)

Yes people like you want to divide the community in the name of helping minority groups. Your effort could be better spent helping someone, but I see your lack of helpful responses to be a proof of your real intentions. *You* have been indulging in name calling and insulting me.
that its acceptable for you to bully others and insult them publicly
...which is what you did to me in this thread in the first place
Sorry, you do not have that much freedom so I call you out and refuse to accept your negative behaviour.
So you accept you're a hypocrite and a controlling being. You do not grant or control my freedom, get it?

abusive? Stop your false accusations. According to your own article: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CodeOfConductGuidelines
You have broken codes 1,2,4,5,6. Hypocrite. ROTFLMAO.
Last chance.
Continue flaming each other, and both of you will be put on moderation for a week.

IIRC, you just said other projects rules were _not_ applicable to ILUG-BOM. Has it changed now?
