Can you people suggest me any TV tuner card and related things? What I want from it is: 1) It MUST work on Linux (Mostly Debian/Ubuntu) 2) It should have AV Composite so that I can play my playstation on computer with sound 3) It should be relatively easy to configure. I'd prefer autodetection 4) It should be avaliable in Mumbai market .... grant road.
I tried My friend's BT878P+ Pixelview, It works fine and is autodetected, Only problem is, It has only AV Composite -- Video wire, i.e Yellow, there is no Audio Left-Right female thing on the card, So I never got to try it with sound

Hauppage make excellent TV cards (http://www.hauppage.com), and AFAIK have manufacturer provided Linux support. No idea if they're available in Bombay though - it's been a few years since I last visited Lamington Road.
Look at http://www.linuxtv.org for details.
Try with the External Tv- Tuner Cards .....they all OS independent and can fulfil your needs.

yes, but there is a small drawback, everytime you want to watch tv, you have reboot the pc ( atleast this is what i saw at my aunt's place)
Nope... It functions like a VGA switch.
Hi,
It won't serve the purpose of ripping shows in case you need to. The only advantage of External TV Tuner card is that it won't require your machine to be up. Connect monitor to that box and watch cable on your PC's display. Go for it only if you are not keen on recording any part of that relay on your PC.
