GNUnify '11.... excellence exemplified
An Open convergence of Open minds, for an Open World.
Organised by the students of the Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR) in association with the Pune GNU/Linux Users Group (PLUG), GNUnify is an annual gathering of the techies. GNUnify embodies the philosophy behind Free/Open Source Software (FOSS). Initiated in the year 2003, GNUnify has soared to become an international convergence of open minds. It brings together some of the world's leading techies to share their knowledge and experience, and the latest happenings from the world of Open Source, with students and developers. This is a golden opportunity for everyone to come, explore and be a part of this wonderful experience.
This year GNUnify will take place on 11th and 12th Feb 2011.

If you want one, you got to start one. ;)
Now that we have 2-3 events being planned in couple of months, it is only a matter of time before we see some people arguing on the pros and cons of (or rather the different ways of) organising a successful event.
So keep watching!

nothing controversial about them (AFAIK). I do not think even *this* group could find flammable content here ;-)

Thanks for providing one. :P
Is 'marketing' a bad word? Should every event compulsorily have a talk and CFP?

Not at all bad word. But, when you name 'Marketing Day' to 'Developer Day' - It is wrong message. Without CFP, I don't consider event open (IMNHO).
