Yes definately, it might be there in your /etc/lilo.conf try hacking there.
Merry Christmas to you to, I think you are on Rh 8.0, so you might be using GRUB, try /boot/grub/...

Yeah! Password protection to the lilo prompt. See the LILO HOWTO. But the password would be stored in plain ascii in your lilo.conf and it better have the right permissions. ciao Abhijeet More
