The school I work for is planning to buy a scanner that works on Debian (planning to use either potato 2.2r6 or Woody)

Can people mail me a list of scanner models they have successfully been able to install on their GNU/Linux machines? We are thinking of buying a canon 640P. Any input on this?

BTW, I have been to the SANE website and have the compatibility list.

Samsung claims that ML1450 would work on Linux. Has anyone been able to make it work in Debian? BTW, I couldn't see this printer listed in www.linuxprinting.org. Any suggestions as to what Laser Printer would be most ideal to have in the price range of upto Rs. 22,000?
