is there anyone on this list with debian package creation and maintenance skills? would like to get work done on a package, paid work.

I guess Kartik Mistry is your best bet. He’s been a Debian Maintainer for a long time now :). Don’t know if he’s on this list so I am CC’ing him here.

Yes. I'm on list! This should have tag [Commercial], but :)
Debian packaging is easy provided one is able to read the document. If package(s) are not aimed to upload to Debian repositories, it is easy to ignore lots of advices given in the documentation on debian.org. Currently, best start is to install 'packaging-dev' and look at it.

it is a document preparation tool that i wish to get packaged. and yes, i am looking to have that package be part of the debian repository.
