I want to create a multipage tiff file, from a group of pnm files and later convert it back to pnm files.

this is what I have tried: pnmcat command creates a multipage pnm file. pnmtotiff command with g3 option converted it to a tiff file with good compression. (960K file converted to 80K) problem is that its not a multipage tiff file & tiffsplit doesnt work on it.
