Just see if this helps. Add this line below in your kppp in the script 'After Connect' section or
simply >su after connecting to the net and issue the same >command. Logout from su and check if you can surf.
'route add default ppp0' without the quotes.
Did the same as you said but it doesn't work and i am not able to understand that i did the same thing on woody and had no problem even Fedora, No why Sarge?
I also did this after seeing google usermod -G dialout pppusers dip user as i saw somebody saying about it, Made resolv.conf readable by all. Still only ROOT can surf.

Hello Rajat,
Did you do a lot of experimenting on the settings before you reached this point? Try to setup kppp from the gui mode. It will ask for the root password. If not then add 'gksu -' to the kppp path in your kppp link. Try a clean reinstall > setup kppp in gui if nothing else works. I have used sarge (the older one) and did not have any problems accept having to add the 'route add...' line.
