Hi All,
As the subject of this post shows, I'm using Ubuntu Linux 8.04 / 8.10 on which I've connected HP LaserJet P1007 printer with the USB port. The printer is getting detected in the system but when I shoot any document to the printer, the prints does not printed on the printer. The documents get spooled out of the system & shows that, it is printed successfully on the printer, but it is not printed
If I connect another USB printer like HP LaserJet 3005 on the same system, then it can print on that printer( on 3005). If the same printer (LaserJet P1007) I connect to the windows xp system, the printer works properly giving all the prints.

In the link provided above, go to the driver's home page and follow the instructions *properly*. Do not forget to download the firmware (don't download the entire list) for your printer and do the hotplug thing too.
After that setup the printer in your system.

Have the same printer (on Debian Testing) and had to use the getweb utility to download the firmware for it before it worked. Have you done that yet?

There's a utility called getweb that comes with the foo2zjs package at least (which is the one I use for printing on the P1007). You need to run this to install the firmware for your printer as /usr/share/foo2xqx/firmware/sihpP1005.dl. Without this file the printer won't work at all.
