Here is a small plan i have worked out.
Not exactly a plan ;-) but it's a start, for sure. I am a little committed to too many things in January, but can help with some non-hardware based networking.
Intended Audience :- Anyone interested In Networking and Security.
Yes, there is an audience, possibly a paying audience, and either paying or non-paying (fully sponsored) models can be worked out.
Cost :- No idea (We can go to a couple of companies for sponsorship)
Right... errrr... but let's be a little more clear on what we want ^before^ we do that.
Venue:- We can ask IIT to sponsor or MIT bandra. (Basically any place with bandwidth).
That's MET, not MIT - let's not confuse them before we even get started.
Subject:- A few talks and a capture the flag event to wrap things up ;-)
I say this is the first thing to lock down on: topics, speakers.
In general, are we talking about limiting this event to FOSS, or will we address needs of Mumbai's users in general? Are we talking corporate or all kinds of users? Are we addressing end-users or service providers?
Please keep in mind that we can't serve everyone, and shouldn't try: that will dilute the event and put off sponsors and audience alike.
Looking forward to this
Vickram

Hey, Lets plan this even after Feb-March so that we have enough time, and hope fully we will have managed some speakers by then. Also have hammered out most of the details.
