I've configured software RAID at my clients place...but i couldnt answer what prompt he would get if the RAId fails and just tell me any good doc on how i could recover from raid crashes....

Was this hardware or software RAID???.
A script through cron backing up data at consistent intervals would help. On a hardware RAID one neednt do nothing since the redundancy is built into the hardware.
