hi
i did install libxine1-1.1.2cvs-051214.i686.rpm and xine-ui-0.99.4cvs-051003.i586.rpm for xine
but when i tried to invoke xine this is wht i see at command line -
xine: /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0: version `GLIBC_2.3.2' not found (required by /usr/lib/libxine.so.1)
Although the lib mentioned above is present on my system at the same location mentioned above
then why the problem? Pls guide on the same my system is redhat-8 (linux 2.4.18-14)

How exactly did you install it? Did you force an install with the --nodeps switch?

This might be mistaken , but why install one i586 rpm & another i686 one ? Those rpms might be expecting libc versions.
